What are you storing up?

Batteries store up energy to be used later.

It takes the energy pumped inside of it and keeps it locked away until something is connected to it.

People are like batteries. We are really good at storing up everything that comes through our mind and heart: Storing up ideas, storing up song lyrics, storing up pain, storing up resentment.

Within a millisecond, we are brought back a positive or negative memory, where we decide to use our energy to help or to hurt.

It’s all about the input. A car battery stores up way more energy than a tiny AAA battery. How much more powerful is the human soul to take on and absorb the things around this media and self-obsessed culture?

From what power source are you storing up? Light-giving Power from Above or the “power” that the world seems to give but then quickly drains you?

The question you should be asking yourself is: What are you storing up?

Psalms 119:11 says:

“I have stored up your word in my heart,

that I might not sin against you.”

Daily devotional time is not a checklist item- it’s a necessity for storing up Heavenly Power, to be used during moments of impatience, anger, loneliness and fear.

That’s how we keep our way steady and unshaken- by being constantly filled with internal and unending power that only the Holy Spirit can give.
